Judge Orders Courtney Love to Stay Away from Frances Bean Cobain

Courtney Love's daughter with late husband, Kurt Cobain has been living with his family. Now the judge has extended the restraining order and told Courtney Love to stay away from her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.

TMZ reports that Kurt Cobain's family has been trying to get custody of Frances Bean Cobain for years. They say that Courtney Love has never been a good mother and has never been there for her child. They point to Courtney Love's problems with drugs as a huge problem in her relationship with her daughter. "Vanity Fair" reported that Courtney Love used heroin when she was pregnant with Frances Bean.

Kurt Cobain's family says that Frances Bean Cobain was raised almost exclusively by nannies and that Courtney Love cannot take care of herself, much less a child.

Frances Bean Cobain is currently under the custody of Kurt Cobain's mother, Wendy O'Connor and sister, Kimberly Cobain. She was also in their care in 2003 when Courtney Love spent time in the hospital.

Frances Bean Cobain will turn 18 this August. At that time she will be free to make her own decisions about whether or not she wants to have contact with her mother. When she turns 18 she is also expected to inherit money and several items belonging to her father.

Frances Bean Cobain was born to Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain on August 18, 1992. Her father, Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, was found dead on April 8, 1994.

Kurt Cobain's band, Nirvana, was part of the Seattle grunge musical movement. Nirvana was highly successful and is often pointed to as a band that changed music. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was the band's most popular song, although their other music was also very successful.

Courtney Love was the lead singer for a band called Hole. She married Kurt Cobain in February of 1992, when she was pregnant with Frances Bean. Hole has not been as successful as it could have been, and sources say this is in part due to Courtney Love's addiction to heroin. She has also had problems with a variety of prescription drugs.

Frances Bean Cobain has begun recording vocals for various projects and is expected to launch her own musical career soon.
