Gateway EC14D07u Laptop Review
The Gateway EC14D07u laptop tries to combine mobility with features of an ordinary laptop, like full keyboard.
The Gateway EC14D07u, however, it is capable to handle most applications but, according to benchmarks in tests, it is able to handle office type programs, browsing the web or media playback with medium quality and performance. The pleasing thing is that EC14D07u has got 4GB of memory which makes multitasking smooth. However, due to weak graphic processing, newest 3D games are basically unplayable (even titles from a few years back).
The Gateway EC14D07u Laptop has got 1.3GHz Intel Pentium SU4100 processor, which is quite good at saving power. The battery lasts roughly to six and a half hours and it could be even extended considering the brightness of the screen.
The keyboard and the trackpad are also of medium quality. The full keyboard feels quite good because of the right sized buttons. The trackpad has god response time and it is easy to operate with it.
Gateway EC14D07u has the weight of 3.5 pounds, the design of the laptop itself is not bad, and however, you will find it easy to leave fingerprints on it. The screen is bright and runs on 1366x768 resolution. The sound quality is poor but at least there is minimal distortion when audio is played on the highest sound levels.
The Gateway EC14D07u laptop comes with pretty much every input you'll need: USB 2.0 ports, audio inputs, VGA and HDMI outputs, flash-card reader, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. It has got an integrated webcam too and has a fairly good quality in a correct lightning.
All in all, Gateway EC14D07u is 100 per cent a portable laptop. You will have no difficulties traveling with it because of its slim design and well features. However, there are nothing very fancy about the Gateway EC14D07u laptop so I cannot consider it to be higher above other similar laptops.
